Power point script 1. Tyler: (Happily yelling) the short term effects of alcohol 2. Jared: So Tyler, what are some of the short term affects of using too much alcohol? Tyler: Well if you drink too much alcohol you become intoxicated or drunk, when you are drunk you become emotional, lose control over your body, and you may do things that you might not have done when sober. Jared: Seems like other than the emotional part if you got drunk we’d never be able to tell. Tyler: Yeah and if you’re drunk you can’t remember anything or even walk straight. You go completely out of control. Jared: In other words, alcohol is just bad and you shouldn’t do it. 3. Tyler: (evil voice) FEAR THE PICTURE SLIDE!!!!!!!! Jared: You guys probably would understand that most pictures of drunken people are inappropriate, so that’s why there are just bottles and cartoons here. 4. Jared: Okay, next we have signs of alcohol. Unless you are drunk, these symptoms are pretty hard to miss. Tyler: If someone has been drinking then they might be really happy or sad, but in a strange way. They also will have a really hard time walking straight or seeing. Jared: Many people who try my glasses on say it’s just like being drunk. Tyler: Yeah, that always gives me a headache. Don’t ever try Jared’s glasses on. Jared: Yeah I recommend listening to Tyler about that. (Sarcastically) We all know how reliable Tyler is. Tyler: What did you say?!? (Smack noise) 5. Jared: Just kidding! Ow. Anyway some other symptoms are not remembering anything, not being themselves, and usually having really bad judgment. Tyler: So that’s why there is a lot of crime and violence involved with alcohol. 6-10. Jared: Next we have some facts we learned. Tyler: Like one of them is I’m cooler than Jared! Jared: Shut up and give’em the real facts! (Whispers) that’s just an opinion. Tyler: Fine. Some cool facts we learned was: • The alcohol in drinks of either low alcohol content (below 15%) or high (over 30%) tend to be absorbed into the body more slowly. • Some mythical ways to cure hangovers are eating cabbages, fried canaries, and bananas. • All 13 necessary minerals for humans can be found in alcohol. • Alcohol doesn’t contain any kind of fat or cholesterol in it. Jared: • Alcohol was first made as a safe way to drink, because back in the middle ages, in my day, water was very contaminated and alcohol destroys bacteria and other harmful microbes. Tyler: There’s no way you’re that old! Jared: Yeah there is! I am ancient! I invented video games 20000 years ago, but the cavemen hated it and threw rocks at me. End facts Tyler: Now for the questions! 11. Jared: What happens to your speech when you’re drunk? 12. Tyler: Alcohol contains none of what? 13. Jared: What is one of the best ways to tell if someone is drunk? 14. Tyler: This is just our sources. 15. Tyler: And that is all! Jared: Thank you for watching our presentation even if we did try too hard to make it funny. Hope you guys liked it!
